Precisely 37 years ago, on September 2, 1985, SIBS launched a truly revolutionary and transformative service for the time, the first major engine of innovation and digitalization in Portugal, which would become an unavoidable system in the daily lives of all Portuguese, contributing largely to the progress of society and the national economy.
Today, 37 years after the installation of the first 9 MULTIBANCO Boxes in our country, its relevance remains unquestionable, both due to the excellence and security of the services it offers, and the fact that it is a unique instrument in terms of inclusion and reach.
It is no coincidence that it is considered a case study around the world. Portugal is one of the countries with the highest number of operations offered through ATM and the unique characteristics of MULTIBANCO allow it to continue offering innovative services, guaranteeing its availability 24×7, 365 days a year, and with a level of security 5 times higher than the European average.
Year after year, MULTIBANCO not only established its presence in the Portuguese market but also established itself as a leading brand, positioned at the level of what is best done in terms of the digital economy and which remains prominent in the main rankings.
In 2022, MULTIBANCO was again distinguished by the consultancy OnStrategy as one of the brands with the best reputation in Portugal and the one that stood out the most in the “quality of service” category, within the scope of the study “Relevance and Emotional Reputation of brands among Portuguese citizens”.
