The MULTIBANCO ATM Network was launched on September 2, 1985, with 9 devices, in Lisbon and Porto, which allowed withdrawals, balance and movement queries and PIN changes. Today, there are around 13 thousand pieces of equipment spread across the country, allowing more than 90 different operations to be carried out.
SIBS is responsible for managing the MULTIBANCO Networks, in their multiple channels – from ATMs and Automatic Payment Terminals, to online media or mobile phones – and ATM Express. At the same time, SIBS is a national reference in Business Process Outsourcing and a leader in the Iberian Peninsula in the production and personalization of cards.
